Dr. Jörg Munzel is an expert in society, economy and change. He is a historic, strategist and visionary. He studied corporate strategy and integrated management at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, as well as history, politics and philosophy in Braunschweig, Germany, and the US. Subsequently, he did a doctorate in computer science and biotechnology. His professional career started in 1992 at the Volkswagen AG, where he shaped the company as head of product planning and design strategy until 2007. Other important stations followed as chief information officer at Volkswagen Group Services as well as director leisure industries at the Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft, Wolfsburg AG. In 2009, Dr. Jörg Munzel was award the IT strategist of the year by the Handelsblatt. The Computerwoche awarded him chief information officer of the year. Due to his career, he has lived and worked in various cities around the globe, including Tokyo, New Dehli, New York and of course Berlin. After 25 years of management experience in the economic sector, Dr. Jörg Munzel took a new path by founding the Institut für Strategie und Angewandte Hermeneutik in 2017. He advises companies and institutions at the interface of strategies and understanding for society ever since. In addition, he works in the fields of science and research. Dr. Jörg Munzel considers himself an activist for issues concerning society. He is active in various charitable organizations. His focus is on his function as chairman of the Israel Jakobson Netzwerk for jewish culture and history. Dr. Jörg Munzel is married and has two children.
